Michelle Carr, a contemporary war widow and emerging ceramic artist, has turned her journey of healing into a powerful advocacy for women. As a military spouse, after the loss of her husband, she found strength through her art, creating beautiful ceramic pieces that symbolize connection, growth, and resilience. Through her practice, Michelle explores the elements of grief, energy, and life.
When given the honor to serve as MC at the 71st Anzac Field of Remembrance two years ago, Michelle sought support from Dress for Success NSW & ACT (Sydney.) “I was struggling to afford anything appropriate for the event, but my styling experience with Dress for Success NSW & ACT (Sydney) made me feel valued, supported, and empowered. It gave me the confidence to step up and embrace the role.”
Michelle not only received professional attire but also accessed career support for her business through the Career Hub and career coaching. Now, she’s saying yes to opportunities she once felt were out of reach. “Knowing there’s a place dedicated to helping women at any stage of their careers is incredibly reassuring and empowering. This experience has given me the courage to pursue opportunities I hadn’t considered before and to envision a future where I can thrive both in my career and personal growth.”
