Nelly found the Dress for Success Des Moines community soon after moving to the United States from Nicaragua. She was connected through a program called Latina Leadership Initiative. A member of Dress for Success’ staff spoke at a session, and it inspired Nelly to reach out to receive styling services for the work she does. Following her visit, she quickly joined the Professional Women’s Group (PWG), where she found a supportive community, valuable insights, and a sense of belonging to a family. From her very first experience with Dress for Success, she knew she wanted to get more involved. Nelly became a strong supporter of our local affiliate.
The PWG sessions have been incredibly impactful for her as she navigates life far from home. Feeling the strength and encouragement of our community, Nelly enthusiastically shares the impact of Dress for Success Des Moines and the invaluable support she’s found in PWG.
She has a special talent for connecting with people, and her story resonates with women everywhere. Nelly shows what’s possible when women support each other. She has experienced firsthand how a community’s encouragement can change lives, and she would work passionately to share Dress for Success’ mission with more people, proving that with the right support, every woman can succeed.
