Tynesha Harris
Dress for Success ignited a fire within me. Witnessing women transform through empowerment and professional attire has profoundly impacted my life. My own journey of personal growth from the day I walked into Dress for Success is a catalyst for my mission to help women define their destiny with the art of storytelling and photography.
Tynesha has demonstrated remarkable engagement with Dress for Success across multiple programs and locations, showcasing her commitment to personal growth, career development, and community service. She received assistance in 2012 that set the foundation for her career path. This experience also helped her connect with NC Works, expanding her employment opportunities.
Her journey includes benefitting from professional styling and suiting services, which helped her present herself confidently during her job search. She participated in career coaching programs and received tailored guidance to navigate job transitions in Raleigh, N.C.; attended workshops and classes that equipped her with skills to advance her professional journey; actively engaged in networking and professional development opportunities, demonstrating a commitment to career progression and continuous learning (Going Places Network & Professional Women’s Group); built a network by connecting with over 100 nonprofit organizations; participated in financial education initiatives, strengthening her understanding of budgeting and financial planning; volunteered with Dress for Success Charlotte, assisting with photography and headshots for programming events, including supporting the Workforce Development Director by providing professional photos for participants; and got an eight-hour Mental Health First Aid Certificate.
Through her proactive participation and contributions, she embodies the mission of Dress for Success, transforming her life and giving back to uplift others. Her resilience, determination, and commitment to both personal success and community empowerment make her an inspiring role model for women everywhere.
A caretaker and entrepreneur, Tynesha has been a passionate advocate for Dress for Success Charlotte in countless ways. Her ability to not only support our services but also engage with strangers and share the impactful work Dress for Success Charlotte does is truly remarkable. For 18 years, she has been a steadfast cheerleader for herself, our clients, and the organization. Tynesha is always ready to serve as a resource for the community, wherever she goes, and is a true example of resilience.
