She also starred in the historical drama Gee’s Bend, for which she was nominated for a Barrymore Award for Outstanding Lead Actress. As a newly minted author, Edwina will release her debut book entitled “The World Is Waiting For You” (HarperOne) on September 9, 2025. With a foreword by Academy Award winning actress Viola Davis, the book shares Edwina’s wisdom regarding unleashing and manifesting your highest vision, discovering, and surrendering to God’s plan, strategically preparing for the life you are praying for, and bravely igniting your gifts and talents to change the world. Edwina and her husband Kelvin Dickerson are the Co-Founders of the nonprofit organization AbundantLifeU, and regularly travel the world speaking, teaching, and inspiring audiences to uncover their purpose and live their dreams.
